Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of HeyTranscribe ("the Service") at heytranscribe.app. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. The Service

HeyTranscribe converts audio and video files into transcripts and subtitle files (SRT, VTT, TXT) using automated speech recognition. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You can try transcription without an account, but you need a free account to download files.
• You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure.
• Provide accurate information and keep it current.

3. Your content

You keep all ownership of the files you upload and the transcripts you generate ("Your Content"). You grant us only the limited license needed to process, store, and deliver Your Content back to you - for example, to run transcription and let you download results. We do not use Your Content to train AI models.

You represent that you have the rights to the files you upload and that transcribing them does not violate anyone's rights or the law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content you don't have the right to use, or that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Process unlawful, harmful, or abusive material.
• Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or bypass limits or security of the Service.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.

5. Plans, limits & billing

• The Free plan includes 60 minutes of transcription per month, with a maximum of 30 minutes per file. Minutes are measured by the duration of your uploaded audio.
• Paid plans (e.g. Pro) may be offered in the future with higher limits and additional features. Pricing and terms for paid plans will be presented before you subscribe.
• We may adjust plan limits or pricing; we'll give reasonable notice of material changes.

6. File retention

Uploaded media is processed in memory and never stored - it is discarded as soon as transcription completes. Your generated transcripts remain available in your dashboard until you delete them. See our Privacy Policy for details.

We aim for reliable service but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or modify the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us or others.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HeyTranscribe will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits arising from your use of the Service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Montana.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
